Maxine Baumeister and Mary Shirk made a quilt called the “Quilt of Valor” which will be given away in a drawing to a living SJVOEA member, either man or woman, who is a veteran. Be sure to get your name in if you are a veteran.

Following our regular November meeting we will have our annual fall bake sale. Bring your baked goods, hand crafted items, etc. to be auctioned.

Our annual Christmas party pot luck will be held Dec. 3 at 6:30 at the Lion’s Club House. Please bring your own table service and a dish to pass. Rolls and drinks will be furnished by the club.  We will discuss a white elephant gift exchange at the October meeting.

Tim Rossman would like to thank everyone who came and worked at the show making it a success. Three articles were made at the show from old tractor parts and auctioned for $20.00 each. The proceeds went to the club.

The fair committee would like to thank everyone who helped set up and tear down the display, all who worked in the tent and all who generously brought food. We had 37 lawn tractors and 90 large tractors. A special thanks to Sheriff Balk for leading the tractor parade Saturday. We made the front page of the newspaper. Thanks to Gene Yoder who loaned a tractor for the pull back and to Jim Everett for pulling back at the Friday night truck and tractor pulls.

Due to the death of her husband, Karen Willis is selling a 1940 Allis Chalmbers B, $2,700.00 or best offer. She said the engine was gone over, it runs well and has new rear tires. Call 269-221-2300.

We would like to congratulate the Club on our tractor display at the Fair. The committee and other helpers, who worked in the rain and spent hours setting up, played a big part, and we couldn’t pull it off without those who brought their tractors for display and food to share, as well as donations to defray the costs.

We have had positive comments from visitors and members. THANK YOU!
